Greetings, I am Mariia Sokor - Food photographer.

I am Mariia Sokor is a professional food photographer based in Philadelphia PA. I have a long visual-arts background, a Masters of Fine Art and have been showing my photos international in galleries, museums for over 6 years. I began photographing food over a decade ago now and haven’t looked back, to me it is a nice blend of finding creative artistic angles, playing with light and texture, mastering the subtle details that make a dish come alive, Food photography challenges me on my toes and constantly learning how to improve my craft. 

Born in Kiev region of Ukraine, I style is rooted in a deep, pasionate and lifelong understanding of food. I grew up on a village where I developed a passion for all aspects of food from production through to consumption and had an allotment, close to my studio, where I successfully experiments growing fruit and vegetables.

I truly love what I do even when I’m not creating, I’m already thinking about the next idea. With 10 years of experience in the photography industry I brings creativity, precision, and a touch of realism to every project. Known for my keen eye for composition, colour, and detail, I capture food in a way that feels both beautiful and authentic. 

Over the years, I worked with some of the USA most recognisable brands, including Danone, Ducktrap, Marine Harvest, MOWI, FINN CRISP, Rembrand Gauda Cheese, Barkers,UPPER, Drinklits, Chessecake factory, Coleman and others.

Beyond photography, I am also the author of The Maria’s Cookbook, featuring my own recipes and photography. This project reflects my deep love for food, creativity, and the emotional connections that meals create.

When I’m not behind the camera, I love tending to my garden and flowers, growing fresh plants, and nurturing them from seed to bloom. I also enjoy spending time with my family and savoring a warm cup of herbal tea while discovering new flavors.
